African Daisy

Writer's picture: HABRANTHUSHABRANTHUS

Osteospermum ecklonis

This is the 'spoon petal' variety.

This is a better example of how the spoon petals will create a bi-color flower, as the underside of the petals of African Daisies are often a darker color.

I came across these flowers in a park in Valencia, Spain.

Disclaimer: If you are thinking I have got the flower name wrong, you may be right. There is some confusion regarding both the species name and the common name of this plant among professionals and amateurs alike. I spent nearly an hour clicking back and forth through a dozen websites, and I feel I got it 3/4 sorted out in my mind. Based on my 'research', I had to change a previous post that is of the same flower, but not the same.
